This role is for someone who wants to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Content strategy and planning for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, including deciding what we create next and why it will perform
• Trend spotting and rapid execution by turning trends into JoynTokyo content fast from idea to publish
• End-to-end content production including planning shoots, filming, directing, and editing
• Editing and creative execution using CapCut and creating simple design assets with Canva
• Performance tracking and growth insights by reviewing analytics and using data to improve the next week’s content
• DM outreach and community engagement focused on real outcomes and conversions, not just replies
• Paid growth support by helping with ad creatives, testing ideas, and reviewing performance
• Creative leadership by pitching ideas, speaking up, and helping shape the direction of the brand

• • Native-level English and strong Japanese, able to work smoothly in a bilingual team every day

• • Creative with good taste, able to spot what looks good, what sounds natural, and what will perform

• • Comfortable with responsibility, because you will own outcomes, not just tasks

• • Data-aware, excited to look at analytics and use numbers to improve content

• • Confident in communication, able to share ideas clearly, accept feedback, and improve quickly

• • Naturally online, someone who understands TikTok and Instagram culture and notices trends early

Required skills

• • Native-level English

• • Strong Japanese communication skills

• • Basic CapCut editing (you can cut quickly, add captions, and create modern-feeling content)

• • Basic Canva skills (you can make clean, simple assets quickly)

• • Currently enrolled in university or college (any year is fine)

Nice to have

• • Marketing knowledge or strong interest in growth

• • On-camera confidence or filming experience

• • Experience managing a social account or growing an audience

• • Strong writing skills in English, Japanese, or both

Location notes

This is a fully in-office position in Shinjuku, Tokyo, based at Frontier Shinjuku Tower.

You will work from a beautiful, comfortable office designed for both performance and creativity. We have lounge areas where the team can relax and brainstorm, plus private booths for focused work, editing, and calls. It’s a space where people actually enjoy coming in, not just a place to sit at a desk.

Shinjuku is also one of the best areas in Tokyo to work in. Right outside the office you have endless options for great food, cafes, and small delicacies, so breaks and after-work meals are genuinely fun.

You will work closely with a bilingual team in an international environment where English and Japanese are used daily, and you will have opportunities to go out for content shoots around Tokyo depending on projects.

Compensation

Hourly wage range: ¥1,300 – ¥1,800

We evaluate interns based on execution speed, quality of work, ownership, and measurable results. Those who demonstrate strong capability and consistent impact can receive hourly increases and performance-based bonuses.
As responsibility increases, compensation can increase accordingly. High-performing interns also have a clear pathway toward full-time conversion, which includes salary negotiation based on role and contribution.
